The Daily Emerald was where I became a journalist in the truest sense of the word. Covering campus affairs, local government, and community issues at the University of Oregon meant showing up every day with a story to find and a deadline to meet — no exceptions. I learned to build sources, earn trust, and write with clarity under pressure. It was the kind of environment that doesn't let you get comfortable, and I'm a better reporter for it.
